Ammeter sons do spring cleanup

LaVonne Ammeter spent Friday evening at Patti and Ronnie Gaines' home. They decorated cakes. Later that evening, Myron and Sally Ammeter of Grand Island, Neb., and Chad and Angela Bunger arrived at the Ammeter farm to spend the night and Saturday. Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood arrived Saturday morning and Stan Ammeter came to join the crew. The boys spent the day mowing and trimming trees and doing many more little chores. All were Saturday dinner guests. The Myron Ammeters and the Bungers left Saturday afternoon to spend the night and Sunday with Sally's mom, Opal Craney.

Blaine, Stan, and LaVonne attended the wedding of Chris Ramsey and Donna Huls in Florence late Saturday afternoon. Blaine left for Ellinwood that evening.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne attended church at Whitewater Center Church Sunday morning, then ate lunch at the Chuck Wagon in Florence. They visited Elsie Tittle and Ike and Marie Clark and the Clark's houseguests, Bruce and Ruth Emke of Ohio, in the afternoon.

Josh Clark visited LaVonne Sunday evening.

LaVonne went to Newton last Sunday morning and met Carolyn Holm at Kathryn and Bob Ireland's. Carolyn and LaVonne went to Great Bend and spent spent Sunday and Monday with Becky Holm and Butch Elffner. Other guests were Amber and Cody and their daughter, Alexes. Carolyn and LaVonne left for home Monday morning and ate lunch with Blaine and Carol Ammeter in Ellinwood. Later, they stopped at Alden at a quilt shop. Quite a place!

LaVonne Ammeter visited Maude Gaines Tuesday afternoon. LaVonne's visitors that evening were Lisa Clark, Josh Clark, and Sarah Sayers.

Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Others quilting were Sherry Nightengale, Dorene Kirkpatrick, Maude Gaines, and Leona Widler. Adah and Carol Gilbert of Newton were guests.

Don Gillet visited Ike and Marie Clark Wednesday afternoon and at the Ammeter home Wednesday evening.

Maude Gaines ate lunch at the senior center in Peabody Thursday and quilted. Maude visited Norma and Leroy Riggs in Marion Friday morning.

Dorene Kirkpatrick and LaVonne worked in Marion Thursday and Friday.

What a great rain we had Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. We truly need to thank God for it!
