Ammeter reports activities for two busy weeks

LaVonne Ammeter and Dorene Kirkpatrick worked in rural El Dorado on Monday and Tuesday.

LaVonne met Carolyn Holm in Burns Wednesday and they ate lunch at the Burns Café. Carolyn spent the afternoon at the Ammeter farm. They visited Fern Goodwin in the early afternoon to see her quilting machine.

Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Those quilting were LaVonne, Maude Gaines, Leona Widler, Dorene Kirkpatrick, Sherry Nightengale. Carolyn Holm was a guest.

Melody Magette of Greensburg came late Wednesday afternoon to spend the night with her mother. Stan Ammeter was an additional supper guest. Melody left Thursday morning for Ellsworth to spend the day with Emily and grandson Avery Haxton.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne went to Hillsboro Thursday and ate lunch at McDonald's. They went on to Durham to get peaches.

Visitors at LaVonne's Thursday evening to pick up peaches were Vernon Klingenberg, Kathleen Brenzikofer, Elsie Tittle, Thelma and Larry Bloeser, Ed Grimwood, Evelyn and Lee Sidener, Ike and Marie Clark, Nancy Wiebe, and Mildred Buller and grandsons. Coleen Brunner came Friday morning for a little while.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne were shopping in Marion Friday and visited Norma and LeRoy Riggs.

Carolyn and Jack Metz picked LaVonne up Saturday morning and they went to Marion for Art in the Park. Carolyn and Jack had a booth there. Had a great day and lovely weather. Marion is to be congratulated on such a great Art in the Park!

Maude Gaines and LaVonne ate lunch Sunday at the Chuck Wagon in Florence and visited Elsie Tittle in the afternoon. Later in the afternoon they visited Ike and Marie Clark. Other visitors were Peggy and Martin Van der Weg and Ian and Kiley and Darby McCord of Newton and Mac and Shayla Clark.

Sunday evening visitors of LaVonne were Don Gillet and Stan Ammeter.

Rob Ammeter of Charleston, S.C., call Grandma LaVonne to report on her great-granddaughter's progress. He said Alison Danielle was doing fine and Mama Christa and great-granddaughter Samantha also were doing OK. Sure makes a grandma proud.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne attended church Sunday morning at Whitewater Center, then met Kathryn Ireland at Don and Marge Gfellers and all went on to El Dorado for dinner at the Banks farm south of El Dorado. Other dinner guests were the honored guest, cousin Pat Merrill from Washington state, Bill and Marie Clark, Sonny and Joannie Clark and grandson Tadine, and Larry and Theo Jean Winzer, all of El Dorado, and Jack and Carolyn Metz of Wichita. The afternoon was spent visiting and talking about memories of days past.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne Ammeter worked at the canteen at the Red Cross bloodmobile Monday afternoon. Others working in the kitchen were Arlene Unruh, Marge Gray, Gwen Gaines, and Mildred Buller. We had so many school kids in to donate. We sure are proud of them.

Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood arrived at the Ammeter farm Tuesday morning to spend the day. We went to Peabody on business, then Blaine was a dinner and supper guest. He returned to Ellinwood late evening.

Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Those attending were Leona Widler, Dorene Kirkpatrick, Maude Gaines, and Sherry Nightengale. We celebrated Aunt Leion Widler's 98th birthday. Wow! Quite a lady, she is.

The children and some grandchildren of Ike and Marie Clark brought supper to the Clark home Thursday evening to help Ike celebrate his birthday.

LaVonne visited Betty and Glen Kyle Wednesday evening.

Dorene Kirkpatrick and LaVonne worked at John and Louise Prigmore's Thursday and Friday.

Maude Gaines went to Marion Friday and visited Norma and LeRoy Riggs.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne went to Marion Saturday morning on business and to shop.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne visited Ike and Marie Clark late Sunday afternoon.

Stan Ammeter was a supper guest of LaVonne Sunday. Lisa Clark was a late evening visitor.
