Eric Magette of Salina called great-grandma LaVonne Saturday morning to tell her she had a new great-grandson, Matthew Eric, born at 1 a.m. He weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and was 21 inches long. Mother Kristin and baby were doing OK. Daddy Eric was real excited. Wow! So was great-grandma.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne were in Marion and Newton Monday.

Sherry Nightengale, Doreen Kirkpatrick, and Maude Gaines met Wednesday at LaVonne's for Ladies Aid.

Evening visitors of LaVonne were Sarah Sayers and Neva and Harold Dyck.

Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood arrived late Wednesday afternoon to spend the night and Thursday. Thursday morning Blaine visited Don and Marjorie Gfeller of rural Burns. Stan Ammeter was a supper guest.

LaVonne attended Winifred Brewer's funeral at Whitewater Center Church Thursday morning and helped the Whitewater ladies serve lunch. We extend prayers and sympathy to the Brewer family.

LaVonne and Maude were in Marion Friday morning, ate lunch in Peabody, and went to Newton to the eye doctor.

Michele Boese spent Friday evening visiting LaVonne.

Maude and LaVonne went to Ebenezer Methodist Church Sunday morning and went to Florence for lunch. In the afternoon they visited Elsie Tittle.

Stan Ammeter was a supper guest. Later Dan and Kerrie Wiebe, Kenton, and Tiana visited.

Whew! It sure has been hot. I think summer's here!
