From last week

The highlight of my news is the baptism of Mitchell Lee Bunger, my great-grandson and Opal Craney's great-grandson too!

Myron and Sally Ammeter, Opal, and I went to Wamego to spend the weekend with Chad and Angela Bunger and Mitchell. Had a good time spoiling Mitchell and watching the Kansas State football game.

We attended church Sunday morning at First United Methodist Church in Wamego. Mitchell was baptized during the morning service.

We went to Angela and Chad's for dinner. In addition to Myron, Sally, Opal, and me, those attending were: grandparents Mary and Gary Bunger, Chad's sister Christi and her boyfriend, great-grandparents LaVerne and Marylin Miller and Norma Bunger, and godparents John and Krista Croghan, all of Nebraska.

Amy and Doug Drake also were godparents, but unable to attend.

Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood spent the weekend at the farm helping Stan fix fence. He was a dinner guest Sunday of Don and Marge Gfeller.

Sunday evening visitors of LaVonne were Blaine, Stan, Melissa Ramsey, McKayla and friend, Dakota, Chris Ramsey, and Don Gillett.

LaVonne, Joyce Kyle, Kathleen Brenzikofer, and Mary Glenn attended election school Monday afternoon at Marion County Lake hall.

At the crack of dawn Tuesday, LaVonne and Joyce Kyle went to Burns Community Building to open the polls for election. Boy, did we have a great day. I was so proud of Summit and Milton townships for such good voting turn-outs.

Ladies Aid met Wednesday afternoon at LaVonne's. Attending were Dorene Kirkpatrick, Sherry Nightengale, and Maude Gaines. Carolyn Metz of Wichita was a visitor.

Kerrie Wiebe, Tiana and Kenton, and LaVonne were in Burns Thursday morning.

Michele Boise and Dylan were all-day guests Thursday of LaVonne to decorate cakes.

Michele and LaVonne delivered a wedding cake Friday for the Faunce-Brown wedding in Newton.

Congratulations to the Peabody-Burns Warriors for a great football season!
