Ladies Aid met Wednesday afternoon at LaVonne's. Maude, Sherry, and Dorene attended. We put in a new quilt.
Maude Gaines and LaVonne went to Marion for shopping and plants. We ate lunch at The Big Scoop.
Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood arrived at the Ammeter farm Friday to spend the night and Saturday. Stan and Blaine spent the day mowing and other jobs for Mom.
Late Saturday afternoon, Myron and Sally Ammeter of Grand Island, Neb., arrived to spend the night and Sunday at LaVonne's.
Mother's Day guests of Maude Gaines were Sally and Jim Abel, Vicki and Dick Gantz, all of Perry, Shelly Harper of rural Inman, Ben Harper of Manhattan, Jean Gaines of Holton, Dusty Gaines of Wichita, Patti and Ronnie Gaines. Troy Abel called his Grandma Maude with Mother's Day greetings.
We had church Sunday at Summit. Pastor David had a really good sermon.
Sunday dinner guests of LaVonne were Myron and Sally and Stan. Later in the afternoon, Steve and Melody Magette stopped by from visiting, Eric, Kristin, and Matthew at Eudora. Lots of visiting and they all left for their homes.
Grandkids Rob Ammeter, Amy Drake, Angela Bunger, and Eric Magette all called Grandma LaVonne with Mother's Day greetings.
Keep the people of Greensburg and all the other towns who had tornado and flood damage in your prayers. I cannot imagine!
Congratulations to all the graduates. Good luck in whatever your future holds.

Maude Gaines and LaVonne visited Aunt Nonie Widler and Orlene Scrivner Thursday afternoon at Legacy Park.
Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Sherry, Dorene, and Maude attended.
Donna Snelling and Jaci Beeman of El Dorado visited LaVonne Wednesday evening to pick out an anniversary cake.
Kenneth and Betty Mattheys of Texas and Betty Sue Rackley of Chandler, Okla., arrived Friday afternoon. Stan joined us for supper. Stan and Kenneth mowed early evening. All we did was watch the weather.
Kenneth, Betty, Sue, and LaVonne went to Marion Saturday morning to visit Lucille Wyss in the nursing home. They were joined by Carolyn Metz. Richard and daughter Sandra also were there. Lucille is much improved and we had a good visit.
LaVonne and Carolyn visited Laura Branham and LaVonne visited Rubena Jost.
In the afternoon Kenneth, Betty, Sue, and LaVonne took a ride into the Flint Hills to Elmdale and Camp Wood, where daughter, Melody worked a couple of summers. They toured Florence and ate lunch at the Chuck Wagon Café.
Carolyn was an afternoon visitor and LaVonne's supper guests were Stan, Kenneth, Betty, and Sue, and Alan Wyss of rural Burns.
Sunday morning Kenneth, Betty, Sue, and LaVonne went to the Metz home in Wichita. We went to a restaurant for late dinner and all were overnight guests. Monday morning the Mattheyses headed to Oklahoma. Jack and Carolyn took LaVonne home.
Tuesday LaVonne and Maude went to the senior potluck dinner at Burns Community Building. James Alberding gave a good program on birds and animals.
Don Gillet visited LaVonne Friday afternoon.
We sure had some weather. Be sure to pray for the people in Greensburg. Sure an awful tragedy. There were other communities that need our prayers also.

Ladies Aid met Wednesday at LaVonne's. Quilters were Maude, Dorene, Sherry, and LaVonne.
LaVonne attended the volunteer party Thursday afternoon for volunteers at Legacy Park. It was a lovely party and well-attended by volunteers and residents. Later in the afternoon, I visited Aunt Nonie Widler, Jessie Bayes, and Emma Shaw.
John Boise and Dylan visited LaVonna a little while Thursday evening.
Maude Gaines and LaVonne ate lunch Friday at the Peabody Senior Center. Always good food and really good visiting. In the afternoon, they took the birthday cake to Legacy Park and stayed for the April birthday party. Afterward, they visited Aunt Leona Widler, Emma Shaw, and Donna Robb.
I picked up Joyce Kyle Friday evening and went went to Lawrence and Lois Sayers for a barbecue for Megan's birthday. Others attending were Sarah and Jim Padgett and daughter, and three friends of Jessica's, and Megan's friend, Ariel. Such a nice party.
Anna Watts of Kansas City, Mo., arrived Saturday afternoon at the Ammeter farm to spend the weekend with Aunt LaVonne. Stan Ammeter joined them for supper. Anna had visited her grandma, Carolyn and Jack Metz in Wichita and her grandparents, Mary and Bob Watts in Newton. We spent the evening visiting.
Anna and I went to church Sunday morning at Summit. Gary Davis came from church and visited us awhile. In the afternoon they visited the Ebenezer Cemetery and then went to Marion to visit Anna's aunt Laura Branham at the nursing home. Anna left for Kansas City later in the afternoon. Wow! Did I enjoy having her visit.
Joyce Kyle picked up LaVonne and Sherry Nightengale Monday afternoon and we went to Norma Clark's for 20th Century Club.
Marie Clark visited Maude Gaines Sunday afternoon.
Michele Montgomery and Bob Hartnagel visited LaVonne Monday evening. Stan was a visitor, too.
LaVonne and Maude were in Marion Tuesday morning on business and shopping. We ate lunch at The Big Scoop.
Jack Clark was a Tuesday visitor.
