Ladies Aid met Wednesday afternoon at LaVonne's. Sherry Nightengale and Dorene Kirkpatrick attended.
On Thursday I went to Marion to attend to income tax business for Maudie Gaines and I. I stopped at Maudie's on the way home.
Carolyn and Jack Metz of Wichita were luncheon guests of LaVonne's Friday and we worked on the Ammeter reunion. Dan Gillet and Stan were afternoon visitors.
LaVonne went to Newton Saturday afternoon and attended the 50th wedding anniversary celebration of Jack and Wilma Arpin. Wilma and I went to grade school together in the Southview District 109. So we have lots of memories. Wilma's maiden name is Allen.
Trayce Warner of Florence visited LaVonne Sunday afternoon.
Shelly Harper of Inman picked up Maude Gaines Saturday morning and they went to spend the night with Jim and Sally Abel. On Sunday they had a big birthday dinner for Maude at the home of Troy and Sara Abel and Hannah of Topeka. Other family members who attended were Richard and Vicki Gantz, William and Cory, Zachary Harper, and Alison Gantz of Lawrence; the Abels, Kim and Kevin Robb, Trinton and Hayden, all of Perry; Jean Gaines of Holton; Ronnie and Patti Gaines of Burns; Ty and Kim Gaines and Brooke of Madison; Dustin Gaines of Wichita; Benjamin Harper of Manhattan; Shelly Harper of Inman; and Herb and Melinda Gaines of Cassoday. They were all together for the first time in a long time.
On Tuesday evening my doorbell rang and I answered it and there stood Emily and Kevin Haxton and Avery. They had brought my birthday present and spent the evening. What a nice surprise and I was really surprised. They brought an e-mail machine and hooked it up. My, oh my. Now I'm right uptown!
Later Tuesday evening Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood arrived at the Ammeter farm to spend the night and Wednesday.
