Ammeter news

Wow! What a start for 2005. An ice storm we will remember! Took us back to the "ol' days." We were out of power for seven days. I don't ever remember being out of electricity for that long. We all survived and it made us appreciate things we take for granted. Hats off to our neighbors, friends, firemen, electric crews, and many others. The fire department heated water to my stock tank and others in the Summit community. I surely thank you all.

I bunked at the home of Lisa and Tom Clark from Tuesday night until Friday. Melody Magette came from Greensburg and I went home with her and stayed until Wednesday afternoon when Steve brought me home. Back to lights and heat. Wow!

Maude Gaines and LaVonne went to Marion Thursday to doctor appointments.

LaVonne spent Saturday afternoon and overnight with Emily and Kevin Haxton in Ellsworth. Steve and Melody also were overnight guests. Sunday they came to the Ammeter farm to clean out the deep freeze and refrigerator. What a mess!

Blaine Ammeter arrived at the Ammeter farm Friday afternoon to help Stan clean up the mess. Arlen Gfeller came later Saturday to help.

Dinner guests of LaVonne Saturday were Stan Ammeter, Blaine Ammeter, and Arlen Gfeller. Blaine and Arlen went to Don Gfeller's in the afternoon to help clean up.

Michele Boise visited LaVonne and Blaine Saturday evening.

John Boise's grandpa, Ted Landis died last week. We extend prayers and sympathy to the Boise and Brundage families.

Melody and Steve Magette and LaVonne ate lunch Sunday in Newton and got to visit with Joey and Charlene Gibson.

Hope you all have a good week and keep warm and watch your step on the ice.
