Ammeter: New pastor

Sunday morning, the Summit congregation welcomed its new pastor, David Randall, from the Peabody United Methodist Church. We are so glad and thankful to have him.
Maude Gaines, LaVonne Ammeter, Sherry Nightengale, and Dorene Kirkpatrick cleaned the Summit church Friday morning.
Maude Gaines and LaVonne attended the senior citizens dinner and meeting at the community building on Tuesday at Burns.
That evening LaVonne picked up Joyce Kyle and they went to Bruce and Sheila Sayers' home for ice cream and cake. The occasion was to celebrate Jessica's birthday. Grandpa Lawrence and Grandma Lois also were guests.
LaVonne visited Opal Craney a little while Wednesday morning. Ladies Aid met Wednesday afternoon at LaVonne's. Those attending were Sherry Nightengale, Dorene Kirkpatrick, Maude Gaines, and Leona Widler. Don Gillet also was a Wednesday visitor.
Maude Gaines and LaVonne were in Potwin and Marion on Thursday. They ate lunch at The Big Scoop, then visited Norma and LeRoy Riggs in the afternoon.
Maude and LaVonne went to Newton Friday afternoon. Stan Ammeter was a supper guest of LaVonne on Friday and Lisa Clark was an evening visitor.
Maude Gaines visited Ike and Marie Clark Saturday afternoon. Diane Nelson also was an afternoon visitor.
Maude Gaines and LaVonne went to Florence Sunday after church and had lunch at the Chuck Wagon with Elsie Tittle and Hazel Clothier. They also visited with Geneva Widler of Marion and Arlene Wilbur of El Dorado at the Chuck Wagon. After lunch they visited at Elsie's home and later in the afternoon visited Ike and Marie Clark in rural Burns.
The community extends sympathy and prayers to the Gorman Frederickson family on the loss of Faye's mother.
J.L. and Debbie Needy and Debbie's mother of Atlanta, Ga., visited at the Laura Rose home Tuesday. All had lunch at the Burns Café. They left Laura's to visit at the Rick Rose's. Saturday overnight and Sunday guests of Laura Rose and Joyce Hein were Joyce's son and family, Brad, Jennifer, Justine, and Andrew Hein of Newton. They attended church at Wonsevu and ate lunch at the Town and Country Café in Florence.
