The 14th Ammeter reunion was held May 27, at the Burns Community Building with 76 people signing the guest book.
Relatives came from Texas, Nebraska, Mississippi, and many Kansas towns.
Sarah Melson, daughter of the Chris Melsons traveled farthest from Goutier, Miss. Martha Wyss was the oldest; Ethan and Alex Ramsey and Avery Haxton were the youngest; and Hazel and Bob Wyss had the most grandchildren.
All the children of Sherwin Ammeter were present as were seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Three of Carolyn Holm Metz's children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were present. Three children of Kathryn Ireland and three grandchildren were present.
Chris Melson gave the blessing and a meal, catered by Arleta Koehn was served.
Carolyn, Kathryn, and LaVonne took charge of the meeting. Each family present introduced themselves and their families, told where they were from and how they were related to the Ammeters. LaVonne announced a new granddaughter by marriage and said in August she would welcome three new great-grandchildren.
A silent auction was held with Carolyn in charge. Some very interesting things were brought and everyone had fun bidding.
