My, what lovely December weather. I think we can say this is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
LaVonne Ammeter visited Maude Gaines Monday morning. In the afternoon, Joyce Kyle picked up Betty Kyle, LaVonne Ammeter, Lois Sayers, and Sherry Nightengale and all attended the Twentieth Century Club meeting at the home of Norma Clark. This was the Christmas meeting. We had a good time, good refreshments, and all had something about Christmas to add to the afternoon festivities.
Lisa Clark visited LaVonne Monday evening. LaVonne attended the Burns Senior Citizens dinner and meeting Tuesday at the community building. The Peabody-Burns elementary children entertained with singing. Wow, are they good!
LaVonne visited at the Mac Clark home Tuesday evening with Shayla Clark's mother, Dot Loften. Mac and Shayla's daughter is doing OK and so are her mom and dad.
Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood came to the Ammeter farm Tuesday evening to spend the night and help Stan on Wednesday. He returned home late Wednesday evening. Blaine, LaVonne, and Maude Gaines were in Marion Wednesday morning to pay taxes and shop.
Maude Gaines, LaVonne Ammeter, and Sherry Nightengale attended Ladies Aid at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Dorene Kirkpatrick and Leona Widler were not able to come. Aunt Leona had cataract surgery Wednesday afternoon. She is getting along real good.
Don Gillet was a Wednesday visitor of LaVonne.
Betty Kyle and LaVonne Ammeter were in Newton Thursday. They ate lunch at Braums.
Maude Gaines, Sally Matz, and Norma and LeRoy Riggs of Marion went to Wichita Thursday to the home of Joyce Barker for dinner and a family Christmas get-together. They report a good time.
Melody and Steve Magette of Greensburg arrived at the Ammeter farm late Friday evening to spend the night and Saturday. Saturday morning was spent in Newton. The Magettes left for home after Melody helped wrap my Christmas presents. Wow! I don't know what I'd do without my kids!
We had church and Sunday school at Summit Sunday. Pastor Dave had a better-than-ever sermon. We are truly blessed to have him.
Lisa Clark and LaVonne went to Wichita Sunday afternoon to the Cessna Center for the craft show. Never ceases to amaze me what people make out of strange things. Saw lots of pretty and Christmas-y things and wow, what a crowd!
The Summit Church Christmas service was held Sunday evening. We had a good crowd and the program was a great success. Thanks to all who took part and attended. Always remember Jesus is the reason for the season.
