I had such a nice surprise Thursday morning. Shelly Harper and Maude Gaines came to get some water and ate lunch with me. We had such a nice visit. Maude went home with Shelly to stay awhile.

Ladies Aid met at LaVonne's Wednesday afternoon. Sherry and Dorene came.

Steve and Melody Magette of Dodge City arrived Friday afternoon at the Ammeter farm. We had lunch. Stan Ammeter and friend, Karen of Colorado stopped by for awhile. Later that evening, all went to the John Boese home and watched fireworks. Sure was a great display.

Melody, Steve, and I went to Legacy Park at Peabody Saturday afternoon to visit Don Gillet. I visited Donna Robb, Emma Shaw, and Dorothy Whisler. Aunt Nonie was sound asleep.

Melody and Steve attended Melody's 40th class reunion at the senior center. They had a real good time. They had a visiting time and Becky Ediger gave a real good talk and they had a delicious meal. I went a little while and visited with all the people who were there. Some I recognized right away and some I didn't. The ones who organized the reunion deserve a big thank-you and congratulations on a job well done. I think they all had a good time.

We had church Sunday at Summit. Pastor Ragland had a really good message.

Melody, Steve, and Stan were Sunday dinner guests of LaVonne. Karen Eckhardt visited us later Sunday morning on her way back to Colorado. She was a houseguest of Michele and John Boese over the 4th of July weekend.

Niece Patricia Foster of Sand Spring, Okla., arrived Monday afternoon at the Ammeter farm and was an overnight guest. We picked blackberries and made a cobbler and solved the problems of the world. Stan came and visited early in the evening. Sure did enjoy her. She left mid-morning Tuesday.

I went to Burns Tuesday to the community building for the monthly senior dinner. Had good food and a great program. Edla Freeland and daughters, Gloria and Gail dropped in to visit. Such a nice surprise.

Hope you all had a great 4th of July and have a good week.
