Alvina Bartel
Alvina Bartel, 93, died July 21, 2004, at Legacy Park, Peabody.
Born April 8, 1911, in Ramona, she was the daughter of David and Mary (Schneider) Beisel Sr.
On Nov. 29, 1929, she married Edward Bartel in Hillsboro. He died in 1975.
She was a member of Trinity Mennonite Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons, Robert Gene Bartel, who died at the age of three months, and Morris (Bud) Bartel, who died in 1990.
Survivors include four daughters, Deloris Kerbs of Salina, Donna Harper of Palm Dale, Calif., Mary Crawford of St. Charles, Mo., and JoAnn Flaming of Topeka; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Stanley Bohn officiating.
Burial was in Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
Memorial funds have been established with Hospice of Newton, Legacy Park, Peabody, or Hillsboro Senior Center.
