Alstrom s contract renewed by school board
Peabody-Burns Board of Education met Jan. 10 and renewed Tom Alstrom's contract through the 2006-07 school year. The vote to retain Alstrom was 4-0. Doe Ann Hague, Jim Hoffmann, and Bill Spangler were absent.
A meeting was scheduled at 9 a.m. Jan. 22 in the central office for the purpose of evaluating Alstrom's performance.
In other business the board:
— approved an overnight trip for members of Business Professionals of America Feb. 25-26 to state leadership conference in Wichita.
— hired Ronnie Harms as a bus driver for the remainder of 2004-05 school year.
— approved an emergency substitute certificate for Chris Shaw for the remainder of the 2004-05 school year.
— approved an early graduation request by T.J. Unick.
— heard monthly building reports from Mary Brown and Ray Savage. A written report from Ken Parry was included in member packets.
— went into executive session twice for the purpose of discussing personnel. Superintendent Alstrom and building administrators were present. No action was taken on return to open session.
