Alice Fisher

Alice P. Fisher, 93, died Nov. 4, 2003, at Newton Medical Center, Newton.

Born Aug. 14, 1910, in northwest Butler County, she was the daughter of Francis M. and May (Vana) Kimberlin.

On Feb. 8, 1932, she married Lewis W. Fisher in Colorado Springs, Colo.

She lived in Peabody for many years and worked at the Ben Franklin store. She and Lewis owned and operated Fisher Plumbing in Peabody. She was a member of the BPW of Peabody.

She also was a member of the Meridian Baptist Church in Newton for 30 years where she taught Sunday school and Bible school.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, camping, and traveling in North America. For many years, she and her husband traveled to Arizona or Texas for the winter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and three sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Lewis; two sons, Monte Fisher of Whitewater and Kenneth Fisher of Hutchinson; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Meridian Baptist Church, Newton, with the Rev. Jerroll Martens and Scott Kliewer officiating.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.

A memorial has been established with the church building fund.
