Administrators' contracts renewed by school board

Contracts for administrators of Peabody-Burns schools were unanimously approved Feb. 14 by USD 398 school board. With all members present and voting, the board approved 2005-06 school year contracts for Ken Perry, Ray Savage, and Mary Brown.

Salaries for the three will be determined at a later date.

The board also:

— accepted the resignation of Julia Ensminger as senior class sponsor for the 2004-05 school year.

— approved supplemental contracts for Roger O'Neal as head high school boys' basketball coach and Ray Savage as assistant coach for the remainder of the school year. Also approved emergency substitute certificates for William Griffith and Trevor Foreman, for the remainder of this school year.

— approved final plans for the senior trip; approved an overnight trip to KMEA State Honor Band in Wichita for one student; and approved $726 for an overnight trip for 21 Business Professionals of America students and one sponsor to a state leadership conference in Wichita.

— went into executive session three times for the purpose of discussing matters relating to a student. No action was taken on return to open meeting.

— approved the food service report, a resolution urging the legislature continue to treat small districts fairly with adequate funding, and warrants for January in the amount of $15,786.17, for February in the amount of $271,114.27, and payroll in the amount of $117,877.85.
