Accidents reported

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Jesse A. Goertzen, 22, 202 S. State, Goessel, was northbound on K-15 in a 1996 Honda Civic at 11 p.m. Nov. 20, when a deer came from a west ditch and was struck. The vehicle was registered to Arlen and Anita Goertzen, of the same address. The driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Matt Vogt.

Tony N. Hett, 36, 2994 Sunflower Road, Lincolnville, was eastbound on 290th Road near Nighthawk in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup at 5:35 p.m. Nov. 23, when a deer came from a north ditch and was struck. Deputy Vogt reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

Harold G. Brown, 61, Newton, was eastbound on U.S.-50 near milemarker 305 in a 1997 Kenworth truck at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 25, when a deer came from a north ditch and was struck. The truck was registered to BBC Distribution of Newton. The driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Deputy Vogt.

Ilene R. Franz, 60, 107 N. Church Street, Goessel, was southbound on K-15 near 120th Road in a 2000 Dodge passenger car at 5:45 p.m. Nov. 29, when a deer came from an east ditch and was struck. Deputy Vogt reported the driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages.

Chad S. Nixon, 35, 215 N. Washington, Hillsboro, was southbound on Bison Road near 240th in a 1999 International truck at noon Nov. 30, and drove under a railroad bridge. There was not sufficient clearance and the truck's grain bed hit the bridge. The truck was registered to Countryside Feed, 101 Santa Fe, Hillsboro. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages to the truck. The bridge was not damaged.
