Accidents reported

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Dale C. Wealand, 66, Elmdale, was eastbound on U.S.-50 near milepost 302 in a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville at 9:47 p.m. Sept. 3, when a deer came from a north ditch and was struck. Kay Wealand, 65, of the same address, was a passenger. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty.

Ann C. Carr, 45, 601 S. Fourth Street, Marion, was northbound on U.S.56/77 in a 1995 Honda Accord at 3:20 p.m. Sept. 10, when a deer came from a west ditch and was struck. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Judy Pendergraft, 59, 2 Random Road, Marion, was southbound on U.S.-77 in a 2004 Toyota Camry at 6:30 a.m. Sept. 11, when several deer entered the roadway and she was unable to avoid hitting one. The driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Deputy Philpott.

Janet D. Tucker, 48, Junction City, was southbound on U.S.-77 in a 2007 Toyota Camry at 7:49 p.m. Sept. 17, when a deer came out of an east ditch and was struck. Daniel L. Tucker, 39, of the same address, was a passenger. The vehicle was registered to Janet Ramamge of Newton. Marion County Undersheriff Randal Brazil reported the driver had a possible injury but was not transported. No damage estimate was given.
