Accidents reported

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Harold J. Keazer, 89, 403 S. Thorp, Marion, was northbound on Industrial Road near U.S.-56, Marion, in a 2005 Buick LeSabre at 3:04 p.m. May 14, and failed to yield to an eastbound 1998 Peterbilt semi driven by Todd A. Eveleigh, Olmitz. According to Kansas Highway Patrol, Keazer was injured and transported by Marion EMS to St. Luke Hospital, Marion.

Jordan J. Clark, 17, 612 W. Fourth, Peabody, was backing a 1995 Chevrolet van into the entrance of Prairie Lawn Cemetery on Old Mill Road near U.S.-50 to turn around at 8 a.m. May 15, and struck a gate post. The vehicle was registered to Tammy Whiteside of the same address. There was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Larry Starkey.

Kimberly J. Stahl, 16, 110 N. Buller, Goessel, stated she was northbound on K-15 near 100th in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix at 7:15 a.m. May 16, and lost control of the vehicle which slid into a west ditch and overturned. The vehicle came to rest on its top in a wheat field owned by Floyd Nickel, 1835 Alamo, Goessel. The vehicle was registered to Victoria Southern of Whitewater. Marion County Sheriff Lee Becker reported the driver was injured and transported by Hillsboro ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

Justin N. Kent, 17, 984 220th, Hillsboro, was at Marion Reservoir near 220th Road and backing a 2006 Ford Explorer LL at 6:15 a.m. May 17, when he struck the right side of another vehicle which was a 2007 Pontiac G5 owned by Mickey Elmer, 105 N. Madison, Hillsboro. The Ford was registered to Lonny Kent of the same address. There were no injuries, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty. No damage estimate was listed on the report.

Matthew R. Ogorzolka, 26, Salina, was southbound on K-15 near 220th Road in a 2006 Chevrolet pickup at 8 a.m. May 17, when a deer came from a west ditch and was struck. Deputy McCarty reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Ernest J. Dirks, 75, 105 S. Lincoln, Hillsboro, was northbound on Goldenrod Road near 190th Road, two miles west of Hillsboro, in a 2000 Dodge SUV at 5:49 p.m. May 18, when one of the tires dropped off the road, pulling the vehicle to the ditch, striking a culvert. Kansas Highway Patrol reported Dirks was taken by LifeWatch air ambulance to Wesley Medical Center. A passenger, Betty M. Dirks, 77, of the same address, was transported by Hillsboro ambulance to Hillsboro Community Medical Center.
