Accidents reported
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
Shane A. Lyle, 37, Overland Park, was eastbound on U.S.-56 near Meridian Road in a 1998 Ford Explorer at 3:12 p.m. April 5 when he lost control of the vehicle because of ice and slush in the roadway. The vehicle entered a south ditch and rolled on the driver's side. Robert S. Sawin, 56, Baldwin, was a passenger, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
Joseph A. Kleinsasser, 53, 215 S. Washington, Hillsboro, was southbound on Indigo near 90th Road in a 2003 Ford Focus at 6:45 a.m. April 10 when a deer came from a west ditch and was struck. The incident was reported at 2:40 p.m. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Josh Whitwell reported there was more than a $1,000 in damages and the driver was not injured.
Ginger K. Becker, 54, 680 290th, Durham, was eastbound on 290th near Goldenrod Road in a 2002 Jeep Cherokee at 6:45 a.m. April 12 when a deer came from a south ditch and was struck. The vehicle was registered to Kent D. Becker of the same address, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Larry Starkey. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
Barbara J. Spohn, 24, 3126 Nighthawk, Tampa, was southbound on U.S.-56/77 near 220th in a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck at 4:50 p.m. April 13 when she lost control on the slushy roadway and entered a west ditch, striking a fence. Cassandra Spohn, 16, of the same address, was a passenger. Deputy Philpott reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
Mathew J. Macy, 29, 725 190th, Hillsboro, was westbound on 190th near Pawnee Road in a 1999 Ford Ranger pickup at 6:30 p.m. April 13 when he slid into a south ditch because of weather conditions and struck a telephone pole. Passengers in the vehicle were Shauna D. Lacio, 29, and Callyan L. Lacio, 7, of the same address. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Andrew Hein.
