Accidents reported
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
Serena L. Pankratz, 49, 1541 Kanza, Hillsboro, was northbound on Indigo near 120th in a 1999 Dodge at 7:25 p.m. Feb. 27, when she tried to avoid hitting a deer. The vehicle went into an east ditch and struck an electric pole. The driver was transported by Life Watch to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, reported Marion County Sheriff Sergeant Jeff Soyez.
Stephanie Classen, 28, 1500 E. Main, Apt. #22, Marion, was backing out of a parking lot on Welch Street in a 1984 Mercury Cougar at 4:30 p.m. March 3 when her vehicle struck a 1991 Suzuki Sidekick that was legally parked. The Cougar was registered to Vernon Goentzel, 1836 Old Mill Road, Marion, and the Suzuki was registered to Mark Vinduska, 401 S. Roosevelt, Marion. Marion Police Officer Howard Kahler reported there were no injuries and less than $1,000 in damages.
Connie L. Dutton, 44, 979 E. 90th, Peabody, was northbound on Jade near 170th in a 1979 Chevrolet pickup at 7:05 p.m. March 10 when she lost control of the vehicle, entered an east ditch, drove into a wheat field, crossed the road and entered a west ditch. Passengers were Eric Dutton, 17, Bill Dutton, 48, all of the same address, and Todd Woodruff, 17, 507 Sycamore, Peabody. The vehicle was registered to James Dush, 313 N. Madison, Hillsboro. Marion County Undersheriff Randal Brazil reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
Justin T. Wodke, 17, 309 N. Adams, Hillsboro, was northbound on Jade near U.S.-56 in a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup at 11:30 p.m. March 10 when a deer came from a west ditch and struck the driver's door. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Undersheriff Brazil.
