Accidents
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
Reginald A. Larabee, 27, 407 W. Grand, Hillsboro, was turning south from U.S.-56 to Goldenrod at 3:10 a.m. June 29 when he lost control of the 1997 Pontiac Grand Am he was driving and entered an east ditch, and rolled the vehicle. The driver was taken by ambulance to Hillsboro Community Medical Center, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott.
Craig W. Whittemore, 31, Wilsey, was driving south on U.S.-56 near Lincolnville at 5:30 a.m. June 29 when a deer came from a west ditch. Sheriff Sergeant Jeff Soyez reported the driver was unable to avoid the deer. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported sergeant Soyez.
Adrienne M. Bottom, 24, Lyons, struck the McDonald's Restaurant building at 812 E. D Street, Hillsboro, at 6:21 p.m. July 2. She was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo when she looked down while pulling her vehicle forward when it struck the side of the building, reported Hillsboro Police Officer Matt Vogt. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages to the building and vehicle.
Dora K. Unruh, 72, 455 320th, Durham, was traveling north on Diamond at 9:15 p.m. July 9, when a deer came from an east ditch and the vehicle could not avoid hitting the deer. Unruh was driving a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis with passenger Ronald E. Unruh, 72, of the same address. Sergeant Soyez reported there was more than $1,000 in damages and no injuries.
