Accidents
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
AMENDED Sheriff's Report: Cathy D. Martin, 50, 211 N. Coble, Marion, was westbound on U.S.-56 at 8:20 a.m. Nov. 17, making a left turn onto Eisenhower. Steven C. Adams, 33, Kansas City, Mo., was passing Martin's 1998 Ford Escort. Martin made the turn in front of Adams 2003 Kenworth truck, causing Adams to hit Martin. Passengers in the Martin vehicle were Cara N. Martin, 10, and Larry D. Zieammerman, both of 2294 220th, Marion. Martin's vehicle is registered to Melissa Zieammerman, 2294 220th, Marion. Adams vehicle is registered to Lucky International Trading Inc., Kansas City, Mo. Martin and her passengers were transported by Marion Ambulance to St. Luke Hospital, reports Deputy Rollin Schmidt.
Rosemary Dirksen, 67, Goessel, was southbound on Meridian just north of 110th at 7:33 a.m. Dec. 1. Dirksen lost control of the 2000 Saturn she was driving, swerved on the roadway, entered the west ditch, and rolled one time into a field. Dirksen was transported by Moundridge EMS to Newton Medical Center, reports Kansas Highway Patrol.
Terry D. Cochran, 52, 1931 Mustang, Hillsboro, was eastbound on K-150 at Zebulon at 10 p.m. Nov. 11. A deer came from the north ditch and was struck by Cochran's 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, which is registered to Randy A. Cochran, of the home. Jake Cochran, 15, of the home, was a passenger in the vehicle. No injuries occurred, reports Deputy Larry Starkey.
