Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Larry J. Pawloski Jr., 22, 218 South Ash, Hillsboro, was southbound on Kanza just north of 250th at 5:50 p.m. Jan. 1. A deer came from the west ditch and was struck by Pawloski's 1994 Dodge pickup which is registered to Jeanette Schaefer, of the home. Jeremy Stetnik, 20, Wichita, was a passenger in the vehicle. Deputy Larry Starkey states no one was injured.

Joshua R. Williams, 24, Herington, was northbound on K-15 just south of 180th at 5:40 p.m. Jan. 4. A deer came from the west ditch and was struck by Williams' 1996 Ford Mustang. Airbags in the vehicle deployed. Larissa M. Roene, 23 and Kathryn L. Roene, 1, both of Herington, were passengers in the vehicle. No one was injured, reports Deputy Starkey.

Gladys R. Mukwindidza, 20, Wichita, was southbound on Indigo at 150th at 7:30 p.m. Jan 3. A deer came out of the east ditch and was struck by her 2001 Chrysler Sebring. Mukwindidza was not injured, reports Undersheriff Randal Brazil.

Irma Koop, 79, 23 Park Place, Hillsboro, was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile passenger car when she backed into a parked car. The accident occurred at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 3, in Hillsboro Senior Center parking lot, 212 North Main Street, Hillsboro. The parked car was a 2000 Chevrolet passenger car owned by Nellie Penner, 608 South Ash Street, Hillsboro. There were no injuries, reported Hillsboro Assistant Police Chief Jessey Hiebert.

Lester W. Kaiser Jr., 44, 304 South Adams, Lincolnville, was southbound on U.S.-56/77 near 230th at 5:36 p.m. Jan. 5, when a deer came from an east ditch and struck by Kaiser's 1988 Buick LeSabre. Deputy Larry Starkey reported there was more than $1,000 in damages
