Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Judith A. Lewis, Wichita, had parked her 1995 Chevrolet pickup at Cottonwood Point boat ramp with a boat trailer attached at 11 a.m. July 15. After boating she returned to find damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.

Bruce L. Schrag, 35, 2839 Arrowhead Rd., Moundridge, was northbound on K-15 just south of 290th at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 6. A deer came from the east ditch and was struck by the 1999 Chevrolet Malibu Schrag was driving. Kelly M. Schrag, 34, of the home, was a passenger in the vehicle. No one was injured, reports Undersheriff Randal Brazil.

Lloyd E. Voth, 67, Halstead, was turning left into a field off 30th just east of Limestone at 4:15 p.m. Aug. 6. Justin L. Soukup, 23, Newton, driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla, was passing Voth's 1978 Ford truck and struck it as Voth was turning. Soukup's vehicle is registered to Charles Fisher, 589 Norwood, Peabody. No injuries were reported, states Undersheriff Brazil.

George Benjamin Floyd Steketee, 44, 418 South Adams, Hillsboro, was southbound on K-15 just south U.S.-56 at 8:50 p.m. Aug. 5. A deer came from the east ditch and was struck by the 2000 Dodge Intrepid Steketee was driving. Passengers in the vehicle were Robert E. Steketee, 74, Parker, Ariz., Mary L. Steketee, 44, and George Benjamin Steketee Jr., 11, both of the home. No one was injured, reports Deputy David Martinez.

Roger J. Richmond, 68, 1528 Remington, Marion, was westbound on U.S.-56 at Remington at 9:50 a.m. Aug. 2. A piece of tire came off of an eastbound semi-truck and struck the 1990 Oldsmobile Regency Richmond was driving. Richmond was not injured, reports Deputy Mike Vineski.

Gregory C. Langenegger, 54, 17736 NW Ohio, Burns, was eastbound on 40th just east of Vista Road at 7:35 a.m. July 29. Langenegger's 1999 International Eagle left the roadway and entered the south ditch. While he was attempting to re-enter the roadway, he struck a concrete bridge and utility pole. The vehicle landed on its right side. Langenegger was not injured, reports Deputy Rollin Schmidt.

James R. Hett, 38, 129 S. Freeborn, Marion, was westbound on U.S.-56 just east of Quail Creek Rd. at 5:35 a.m. July 29. A deer entered the roadway and was struck by the 1992 Mazda Miata Hett was driving. Deputy Schmidt states Hett was not injured.

Seth M. Larson, 29, 2218 Yarrow, Marion, was westbound on U.S.-56 just west of Cedar Street at 5:15 a.m. Aug. 5. A deer entered the roadway and was struck by the 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Larson was driving. The vehicle is registered to Brenda K. Larson of the home. Larson was not injured, states Deputy Schmidt.
