A.J. Coe

A.J. Coe, 86, died April 26, 2004, at his home in Marion.

Born June 8, 1917, at Collinsville, Texas, he was the son of Andrew Jackson and Grace (Tarr) Coe.

On Oct. 28, 1948, he married Adelaide "Della" Escobar at Herington.

Former owner of a plumbing, heating, and air conditioning business, he was a member of Eastmoor United Methodist Church. He also served on the Marion County Planning Commission.

Survivors include his wife, Della of Marion; three sons, Bruce Coe of Casper, Wyo., George Coe of Wichita, and James Coe of Bel Aire; two daughters, Rebecca Cameron of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Catherine Patterson of Berryton; two brothers, Clyde Coe of Louisville, Ky., and Harry Gilson of Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Priest officiating.

Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with Marion Public Library.
