600 block of Sycamore Street wins first contest years ago
The Peabody Economic Development Council announces the first winners of the Neighborhood Beautification Contest is the 600 block of Sycamore Street for receiving the most votes!
Winners will be served a barbecue dinner by the Peabody Economic Development Council at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Dinner is provided by Peabody State Bank, Peabody Hardware, Peabody Market, Peabody Main Street, and the City of Peabody.
The contest has just started, so it's not too late to win. Every block in Peabody is eligible to win
The next time blocks will be judged is June 16-20, with the next winning barbecue scheduled for July 7. As mentioned in an earlier article, the criteria to win a block party barbecue are: grass mowed, neat and clean; bushes and trees trimmed; no appliances, junk, or debris in yards; clean curbs and gutters; no nuisance conditions; or just the most improved in all the above categories.
