200 block of Plum wins neighborhood beautification contest years ago

We would like to congratulate the 200 block of Plum for being selected as the final winning block for the neighborhood beautification contest sponsored by Peabody Economic Development Council.
That neighborhood was voted "most improved block" by five judges who remain anonymous even to each other. Each judge submitted three votes and after the votes were tallied, 200 block of Plum was the winner.
For their hard work in cleaning up the neighborhood, block residents, friends, and families will enjoy a block party barbecue dinner Thursday evening prepared and served by members of Peabody Economic Development Council. The meal is sponsored by Peabody Hardware, Peabody State Bank, City of Peabody, and Peabody Main Street Association.
Other block winners include 500 block of Walnut, 900 block of Locust, and 200 block of Maple.
We will be evaluating this contest at a future economic development council meeting. If you have constructive input about the contest, call Joanna Brazil at (620) 382-6889, email pmsa@peabodyks.com, or contact one of the Economic Development Council members: Alan Yock, Shreves Avery, Mary Brown, Mark Whitney, Jeff Benbrook, Dennis Riggs, and Jeff Pohlman.
