The Peabody-Burns 10-year-old boys' baseball team is now halfway through its season. The boys have compiled a record of 4 wins and 2 losses with five games yet to be played.

The first game of the season was played at Marion against Marion #1 on Memorial Day. The boys won 7-6.

A tough team from Centre was the boys' second opponent. The boys struggled with hitting and lost the game 3-14, in 4 1/2 innings of play.

A home game against Hillsboro #2 found the boys hitting the ball with much more confidence. After 5 1/2 innings of play, the Peabody-Burns team won with a score of 13-11.

The boys completed their fourth game of the season at Cottonwood Falls. In spite of the rain that fell steadily during the four innings of play, the Peabody-Burns boys came up with a 12-10 victory.

On June 10, Hillsboro #1 came to town. The boys held the Hillsboro team to 11 runs in five innings, but struggled at the plate and only produced five hits. The final score, Peabody-Burns, 3, Hillsboro #1, 11.

The following Thursday, the boys played their 6th game against Marion #2. The team pitchers were able to pitch only 1-1 1/2 effective innings each. Five pitchers were used in the 5-inning game. The scoring was tight throughout, but the Peabody-Burns boys were able to hold on to a 15-13 win.

Members of the Peabody-Burns 10-year-old team are Sean Brunner, Abe Eldridge, Trevor Foth, Caleb Hilliard, Matt Jarrell, Dylan Jones, Joseph Lopez, Daniel Martinez, Storm Pickens, Jordan Riggs, and Jason Wingert. Head coach is Dennis Riggs. Duke Eldridge assists.
