Frank Kent has rented the Monroe property, south of Haack's Grocery, and will start a restaurant and bakery.
Dr. A.S. Cone of Florence is now the only lady physician in Marion County.
The old gentleman Records, who has been sick for sometime, is still quite feeble. Mr. Records is one of two or three citizens who came to Florence about the first year it was laid out and who have lived continiously on the original town site.
It is reported that the Santa Fe has purchased the corner where Andy Price's restaraunt stands, and that Andy has been notified to vacate within a month. It is quite certain that the company intends to build the new depot and hotel on this corner.
Engineer John Tally and Fireman Robt. Rollo hold the record for the fast time between Florence and Newton. They left here one day last week 13 minutes late, and arrived in Newton on time, making the distance of 27 miles in 22 minutes.
