Zimbabwe is topic of next learning program

“Zimbabwe: The Country and its People” will be the subject of Friday’s Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College. Bob Priest, Marion, will share stories and photos from his 2011 trip to the African country.

Priest is retired after serving 43 years with the United Methodist Church. The trip to Zimbabwe was in support of the greater mission of the United Methodist Church, including the development of a Skills Training Center near the city of Mutare.

Priest grew up in northwest Ohio. He graduated from Asbury University in Kentucky and United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. He and his wife, Judy, have been active with Volunteers in Missions and Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion, where Priest teaches a Sunday school class. Priest has been active in the United Christian Ashram movement.

Learning in Retirement meets in the lobby of the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center. The program begins at 9:50 a.m. Registration for the whole series is $15 per semester or $29 for a couple. Single-session admission is $4. Lunch will be served in the Tabor College cafeteria at a price of $4.
