World Day of Prayer observed

Members from five different churches attended World Day of Prayer Friday at Marion Presbyterian Church.

A writing called “Am I Being Unfair to You?” was the theme of the event.

Sue Clough was song leader. She also sang a solo of the Lord’s Prayer. Lydia Gates was pianist. Mary Ford read scripture. Other participants were Connie Fisher, Joni Rieman, Iris Blackketter, Karen Egt, Madonna Schafers, Ann Carr, Jan Helmer, Margaret Wilson, and Janet Bryant.

Philippines native Gloria Ash spoke of life in her mother country, and demonstrated the use of native fabric as a head covering, shawl, and beach cover-up.

Marion Church Women United sponsored the event.
