Wonsevu: Group meets for lunch

Contributing writer

Former members of Wonsevu Christian Church met Saturday for lunch at the Burns Café. Those present were Reva Goodwin of Moundridge, Evelyn Sidener, Sam and Diane Griffin, and Bev Morgan of Burns, Bennie and Marie Holtsclaw of Cedar Point, Wilma Jean Everett of Florence, Clint and Lisa Stoppla, Taylor and Kourtney of Hesston, and Doni Rogers and Bill and Margie Williams.

Hazel Clothier visited Lenore Smith Monday at Florence. Hazel met her daughter, Teresa Hill and Cassidy at the Pizza Hut in Marion Friday for lunch.

Thelma Thigpen and her son and grandson, Dennis and Zack Thigpen of Little Rock, Ark., were Sunday through Friday guests of Bill and Margie Williams.

Thelma and I met Elizabeth Butcher for lunch Monday at Emporia.

We took Thelma, Dennis, and Zack to Newton Thursday for supper to celebrate Dennis’ birthday.

Thelma and I met Jean Everett and Margaret Morgan of Burns at Florence Tuesday for coffee and snack time.

Carl and Becca Williams of Wamego and Hazel Clothier were Sunday dinner guests of Bill and Margie Williams.

Bill and I visited with Reva Goodwin and Fern Goodwin at Burns. Fern showed Bill and I her quilting machine that was real interesting. It looked complicated to me.

Everett and Janet Cress left Sunday afternoon with Jim Siebert and friend, Angie for Tulsa, Okla., to attend the Kenneth Hagin camp meeting. They spent Sunday night and Monday and came home Monday night.

Everett and Janet left early Thursday morning for Omaha, Neb. They met Alan, Lisa, and Mariah there. Mariah was competing in the National Junior Olympics for three days. She did shot put, discus, and javelin.

Alan, Lisa, and Mariah returned home with Everett and Janet to spend some time with them.
