Wonsevu: Friends attend appreciation dinner at Burns

Bill and Margie Williams and Hazel Clothier attended the Co-op dinner at the Burns Community Building. It was a very good meal.

Doni Rogers spent part of the week cowboy-ing. She stopped by the Burns Community Building Thursday and ate lunch at the co-op dinner. Later Doni and Sandi Cunningham went to El Dorado.

Carl Williams of Wamego was our Sunday dinner guest.

Sunday afternoon visitors of Margie Williams were Denise and Jaimie Lang and Jessica and Dana Lang of Strong City. Dana is a real cutie!

Everett and Janet Cress had a gathering Monday evening so everyone could visit with Alan, Lisa, and Mariah Cress. Those present were Janice and Kenneth Miller, Jim Siebert, and Angie Kreahbriel, all of Emporia; Shanna, David, Ethan, and Ben Goodin of Douglas; Shealah Gulick of Wichita; Shannon Foster of Newton; Rylee and Oliver Ownby of Hutchinson; Mat Whitcomb of Cottonwood Falls; Joe Rolland and Brandon, Carri, Montana, and Hunter Cress, all of Cedar Point; Gary Sullten of Burns; and Doni Rogers, Sandi Cunningham, and Lawrence Osgood and Garrett of Homestead.

Alan, Lisa, and Mariah left Wednesday for their home in Darby, Mont.

Roy and Bev Reynolds went to Blue Springs, Mo., this past week to the 90th birthday party of Roy’s aunt, Ruby O’Malley. When they returned they went through Lawrence and visited with their grandson, Kelley Reynolds who is attending the University of Kansas this fall.

Bev and Roy’s friends Linda and Glenn Mowell from Lafayette, La., arrived Friday and stayed until Sunday. They have been friends for 30 years, since they were in Scotland.

Katherine Dowell of Leon, Linda, and Bev went shopping Saturday in McPherson and ate lunch there.

Hazel Clothier met her daughter, Teresa and Cassidy Hill in Marion Thursday. They ate lunch at the Pizza Hut.

Sunday dinner guests of Hazel were Teresa and Kevin Hill of Marion.

Julia Smith and a friend went to a baby shower in Oklahoma this week.

Tootsie Snelling attended a baby shower a week ago Sunday for her great-granddaughter, Ella Reann Mai. Lynn and Kent Mai of Goessel are her parents.

Friday night Dale and Tootsie participated in the Marion County Relay for Life at Marion. Their team raised $1,850.

Saturday Dale and Tootsie went to Goessel to meet Dean and attended the Goessel Threshing Days. They hadn’t been there before and said it was something to see. They enjoyed seeing all the big old tractors.
