Burns correspondent
Five Burns United Methodist women — Esta Hall, Dorene Kirkpatrick, Lucille Robinson, Beverly Morgan, and Joyce Kyle — went to Hesston July 11, and called on Don and Laverna Parish. After their visit, the women went to Newton for lunch and visited Reva Goodwin, Margaret and Ivan Morgan, and Eleanor Davidson.
Wayne and Gloria Handle, and Lisa and Jaret Johnson were July 11 brunch guests of Marie Clark. Wayne left for an Emmaus walk, and Gloria spent the weekend with her mother. Ashley Reed and children of Wichita were lunch guests July 12, and Jim and Delores Russell of Augusta were callers that afternoon.
Marie Clark, Diane Nelson, Gloria Handle, Jennifer Stucky, and Peggy Van der Weg recently went to Wichita. They did some shopping and called on Joyce Barker.
Jennifer Stucky was a July 14 dinner guest of Marie Clark. Kiley McCord and children of Newton visited her July 15.
Jessica Sayers celebrated her birthday with a dinner July 14 at the home of her grandparents, Lawrence and Lois Sayers. Other guests were Bruce Sayers, Megan Sayers, Sandy Sayers, Sara Wessel and Leroy, and Autumn Padgett.
Fourth of July weekend visitors of Marvin and Sherol Nightengale were Kristen and Brandon Wild, Sophie and Brock of South Carolina, Mitch and Cathy Foote, and Brad and Diane Nightengale, Roger and Casey.
Joyce Kyle was a guest the evening of July 12 at Burns Café and Bakery of Jim and Helen Schroeder of Moundridge, their son, Cole, of Chicago, and their daughter, Kalisha Jantz, and her family, Brad Jantz, Hayley and Trey of Moundridge.

Burns Countryside Church senior fellowship was held July 16 at Indian Guide Terrace at Peabody. Hosts were Dan and Alice Stucky. Also attending were pastor Arlen and Mary Busenitz, Emily and Carson, Mary Langenegger, Mike and Larry Spachek, Sadie Decker, and Joyce Kyle.
