The Peabody-Burns High School Warriors basketball team had three losses this past week. They lost to Remington, 75-47, at home Feb. 14; Little River, 63-49, Feb. 15 at home, and Friday at Moundridge, 64-55.
Tuesday was Senior Night against Hope. The team will finish the regular season with a Thursday night matchup at Elyria.
Remington
Derek Price opened the contest with a 2. Remington scored a trey, but Matt Hiebert added a 2, and PBHS led, 4-3. The Broncos again sunk a trey, but Hiebert answered with a 2 and tied the game at 6 with 5 minutes, 50 seconds on the clock. Remington again took the lead with a 2, but PBHS grabbed the lead, 9-8, with a trey from Price.
The Broncos again took the lead, but Hiebert added two baskets, and the Warriors led, 13-10. Remington then went on a 14-point run, and PBHS trailed, 24-13, at the end of the first quarter.
Price scored a 2 early in the second quarter. The Broncos followed with a free throw. Jacob Gillet got on the board with a 2, but Remington also added a 2. Brody Kyle put in a 2, but a 7-point Bronco run gave Remington the 34-19 edge with 5 minutes on the clock. Storm Pickens scored next for the PBHS squad, but Remington came back to score 4. Price added 1 from the line, but Remington came up with 2 and two free throws before Pickens added a PBHS 2. The Broncos added two free throws with less than 1 minute left in the quarter. Hunter Pickens answered with two free throws. Price ended the half with a 2, but PBHS trailed, 44-28.
The Warriors were outscored, 31-19, in the final half of the contest. Hiebert paced the team with 8. Price had 5, and Storm Pickens scored 4. Hunter Pickens added a 2. PBHS lost to The Broncos, 75-47.

Little River
Little River owned the first quarter with 16 points. PBHS had 4, 2 from Kyle and 2 from Price. The Warriors were behind, 16-4, at the end of the first quarter.
PBHS outscored the Redskins, 15-13, in the second quarter, but still trailed at halftime, 29-19. Storm Pickens had 6 in the quarter. Hiebert had a trey. Hunter Pickens, Price, and Kyle each added 2.
Both offenses had 11 in the third that kept the 10-point edge for Little River, 40-30. Storm Pickens and Seth Topham each had 4. Austin Savage added a trey.
The difference in the contest was free throws in the fourth. PBHS scored 19 from the field, but the Redskins added 23 points, 15 from the line. PBHS lost to the Redskins, 63-49.

Moundridge
Both offenses scored well in the first quarter. The Warriors had 12, 5 from Hiebert, a trey from Price, and 2 points each from Gillet and Hunter Pickens. The Wildcats ended the period with 20, including four 3-point baskets.
PBHS poured on the offense in the second, scoring 18. Savage and Hiebert each had 7 points in the period. Price had a 2-point basket and Kyle added two free throws. Warrior defense held the Wildcats to 9 and took the 1-point lead, 30-29, at the half.
The third quarter belonged to the Wildcats with 18 points. PBHS offense managed only 7, 5 from Hiebert and 2 from Kyle. PBHS was down by 10, 47-37, at the buzzer.
Offense from both squads was almost even in the fourth. PBHS scored 17 and the Wildcats had 18. Storm Pickens got on the scoreboard with 6. Price scored 4 and Savage had a trey. Gillet and Topham each had a 2-point basket and Kyle added a free throw. PBHS lost to Moundridge, 64-55.
