Warriors lose 2 games

Victory eluded the Peabody-Burns Warriors in two games last week with a loss at Pretty Prairie 62-56 and a loss to Moundridge 48-17.

Little River

Fast-paced action left the Warriors down 24-15 at the end of the first quarter. Braxton Kyle led the team with 7 points. Xavier Jabary put in 6. Kevin Baatrup scored 2 from the line.

The Warrior defense held Pretty Prairie to 9 in the second. Better offense from PBHS closed the gap to 2 at the half 33-31. Kyle and Garret Schroeder each had 6 in the quarter. Jabary and Nick Preheim added 2 each.

PBHS flirted with the lead several times in the third and managed a 1-point lead 47-46 at the buzzer. Kyle and Schroeder each had 7 in the period. Jabary added a basket.

Little River claimed the lead in the fourth and scored 10 of 16 points from the free-throw line. The Warriors had 9 in the final period. Jabary led with 5. Schroeder and Enrique Palazon each added a basket. PBHS lost 62-56.

Scoring

Kyle, 20; Jabary, 15; Schroeder, 15; Baatrup, 2; Palazon, 2; and Preheim, 2.

Moundridge

The visiting Wildcats built a big first-half lead, outscoring the Warriors 33-18. Schroeder led the first half with 6 points. Baatrup, Jabary, Kyle, Vince Newman, Preheim, and Kaden Gibson each scored a 2-point basket.

The Warrior offense had 6 points in the third and 6 points in the fourth. Moundridge added 24 in the second half. Kyle led the PBHS squad with 4. Baatrup, Jabary, Newman, and Schroeder had 2 each. PBHS was defeated 57-30.
