The Peabody-Burns High School volleyball team made its final 2008 home appearance Oct. 7 at the PBHS triangular.
The Lady Warriors lost both matches. The first was to Hutch Trinity 25-21, 25-23 and the second to Remington 26-28, 26-24, 15-25.
The team traveled to Remington Tuesday and is preparing for Saturday’s Heart of America league Tournament.
Game one against Hutch Trinity was close with ties at six, nine, and 16 points.
A Clarissa Terronez ace and a Michaela Methvin kill sparked the team to a two-point lead, 19-17.
PBHS errors allowed a Trinity comeback with Hutch taking seven points in the game.
In game two, PBHS pulled even at seven, helped by aces from Felecia Pohlman and Danielle Savage, and a kill from Embry Hodges.
Another kill by Hodges at 17-18 put the team within one point.
Errors were a problem late in the match but Julie Wedel came on with good serving, including an ace, and Methvin helped with a solo block.
Trinity took the last two points of game and PBHS lost, 25-23.
PBHS led 9-5 in game one against Remington aided by kills from Savage and Methvin, an ace from Terronez, and back row defense from Clark.
Remington came back to tie the game at 12.
PBHS went out to an 18-14 lead with kills from Savage and Wedel.
It remained in the lead late, but Remington came back to tie the game at 23.
A Pohlman kill put the Lady Warriors up 24-23.

Down 4-0 in game two, PBHS rebounded to take the lead at 12-8.
Remington regained the lead 19-15 but kills by Methvin, Savage, and Hodges, a block by Methvin, and some Remington errors gave the Lady Warriors the game two victory 26-24.
The Lady Warriors were down by five early in game three.
They were able to get as close as 10-6, but kills from Wedel and Savage, and blocks from Methvin and Hodges were not enough to overcome the Remington lead.
