The Peabody-Burns High School football team entered district play Friday with a game at home against Chase County. The Warriors lost to the Bulldogs, 42-0.
The team will play their last contest of the season this week with a game at Moundridge.
A Chase County kickoff that sailed out of bounds set up the first Warrior offensive series at the Warrior 35-yard line. Hunter Pickens handed off to Derek Price on first down. A pitch to Storm Pickens on second down set up a third-and-14 pass play.
A Bulldog interference flag kept the drive alive and moved the ball to the Warrior 46. Daniel Brassfield got into the offense with a first down gain of 5 yards. Another Chase County penalty on second down moved the sticks and set the Warriors up at first-and-10 at the Bulldog 37. Storm Pickens and Brassfield combined to earn a new set of downs at the Bulldog 26.
The Warrior drive was halted on a fourth-and-14 pass play and PBHS turned over the ball on downs at the Chase County 30- yard line.
On the ensuing drive, Bulldog offense moved the ball from the Chase County 30 to set up a second-and-3 score from the Warrior 12-yard line. Warrior defense had tackles on the series from Lucas Larsen, Spencer Moffett, Brassfield, Storm Pickens, Clint Jones, Price, Brody Kyle, Austin Savage, and Trevor Foth.
PBHS trailed, 8-0, with 1:23 left in the first quarter.
A Warrior fumble on the next offensive series led to the next Bulldog score. With 9:14 left in the second period, Chase County scored on a second-and-goal from the 1. The Bulldogs led, 14-0.
PBHS offense remained scoreless in the first half and the Bulldogs added two more scores before halftime. The Warriors were down, 28-0, at the break.
A PBHS onside kick recovered by Price set up the second half Warrior offense at the Bulldog 36. The drive included runs by Brassfield, Price and Storm Pickens. The drive was halted when a first-and-goal Warrior pass from the Bulldog 4 was intercepted by the Chase County squad in the end zone.
Two Bulldog scores in the third led to a continuous clock for the entire fourth quarter. PBHS trailed 42-0 at the end of the third period.
Defensive plays in the second half were recorded by Foth, Jacob Gillet, Brent Jones, Storm Pickens, Daniel Martinez, Moffett, Larsen, Savage, Garrett Weems, and Kyle.

Brassfield had 15 carries for 23 yards. Storm Pickens carried nine times for 13 yards and Price ran seven times for 10 yards. Hunter Pickens had one pass for 8 yards.
Larsen led the defense with 8.5 tackles. Foth was next with six tackles and Price had 4.5. Kyle, Storm Pickens, Brent Jones, and Moffett each recorded 3.5 tackles.
Savage had three and Brassfield had 2.5. Gillet and Weems each had 1.5 tackles and Martinez recorded one tackle. Clint Jones had .5.
