A long Friday road trip ended with a double overtime victory for the Peabody-Burns Warriors. They came out on top 44-42 and now will face Solomon Friday at home.
Warrior offense scored four times in regulation. Abe Eldridge had an 8-yard run in the first quarter for the first score in the contest. Hunter Pickens added a conversion run.
The second Warrior score came with seven minutes left in the first period. Storm Pickens had a 54-yard run and also added a two-point conversion.
The third PBHS score came in the second with another run by Storm Pickens, this one for 46 yards.
A Storm Pickens 1-yard run capped off the scoring in regulation. Hunter Pickens scored the two-point conversion. The teams were tied at the end of the game, 30-30.
PBHS added 6 points in the first overtime on a 10-yard run by Storm Pickens. Claflin also added 6 but neither team added conversion points and the contest went into a second overtime.
Storm Pickens added a score with a 10-yard run in the second extra period. He also added a two-point conversion. Claflin added 6 in the overtime but failed to add their conversion and the Warriors won, 44-42, in double overtime.
Storm Pickens ran the ball 26 times for 226 yards and five touchdowns. Hunter Pickens carried the ball eight times for 35 yards and Eldridge had 10 carries for 23 yards and a touchdown. Hunter Pickens was five for 11 in the passing game for 43 yards. Derek Price had two catches for 22 yards. Brody Kyle caught one for 9 yards and Jacob Gillet caught one for 9 yards.
The defense was lead by Storm Pickens with 12.5 tackles. Eldridge had 11.5 and Lucas Larsen had 9.5. Price had eight tackles. Kyle had 4.5 tackles and Trevor Foth had 3.5. Brent Jones had 2.5 and Austin Savage and Daniel Martinez each had 1.5. Jacob Gillet and Spencer Moffett each had .5 tackles.
