Warrior comeback falls short

Despite a third quarter comeback, the Peabody-Burns Warriors fell to Solomon 54-40 in the Friday homecoming matchup.

An intense first quarter left the game tied at 13 at the end of the period. Braxton Kyle led with a trey and a 2-point basket. Kevin Baatrup and Garret Schroeder had 4 points each.

Kaden Gibson was the only offense in the second with two free throws. Solomon scored 11 and led the PBHS squad 24-15.

The Warrior defense held Solomon to 12 while the offense exploded in the third with 18 points. Vince Newman led the assault with two treys. Xavier Jabary and Kyle added 4 points each. Junior Edmondson and Baatrup each contributed a basket. PBHS closed the gap to within three at the end of the period.

Not much went right in the fourth for the Warrior squad. Solomon scored 18 points including nine from the free-throw line. PBHS offense added 7. Newman scored another trey. Nick Preheim added a 2-point basket, and Edmondson and Jabary tacked on one free throw each.
