Victor Winter

Former meat cutter Victor Ray Winter, 70, of Allen, died Jan. 26 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

He was born Oct. 6, 1944, to Ruben and Ella (Ebel) Winter in Marion. Victor married Roberta Sue Hansen and they later divorced.

He worked as a meat cutter at Iowa Beef Processors in Emporia and Allen Locker in Allen. He retired in 2002 from McDonald’s where he was a maintenance worker. He taught Sunday school, coached softball, was a volunteer fireman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by a son, Robert Winter of Topeka; daughter, Victoria Heinen of Lenexa; brother, Earl Winter of Marion; and a sister, Kathy Silhan of Pilsen. His parents preceded him in death.

A funeral service was Monday in Emporia. Graveside services and interment were at Marion Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen Volunteer Fire Department or Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion.
