Velma Rachel Martin, 95, died Friday at St. Luke Living Center.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen with a Rosary being recited at 10 a.m. before Mass. Interment will be at Pilsen Cemetery.

She was born April 10, 1921, to Albert and Eva (Hubert) Marcotte in Vermillion, South Dakota.

She married Harry Martin on April 25, 1942, in Emporia. He preceded her in death in 1999.

Velma was a homemaker, member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church at Pilsen, and the church altar society.

She is survived by sons Phillip of Onega, and John and Albert, both of Topeka; daughters Norma Horinek of Marion, Marilyn Horinek of Atwood, Colleen Key of Morris Alabama, Cheryl Bryant of Conyers, Georgia, Gloria Karhoff of Milton, Iowa, Barbara Roberta of Birmingham, Alabama, and Virginia Smith of Louisville, Kentucky; sister Jennette Rowland of Shawnee; and numerous grandchildren.
