Velma Hulstine

Velma Addison Hulstine, 90, of Hillsboro, died Friday at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

Born Dec. 6, 1920, to Vernon and Jacy (Dillinger) Trexler in Bloom, she was an elementary school teacher.

On Jan. 18, 1948, she married Clovis Addison in Ulysses. He died in 1990. She married Ivan Hulstine Jan. 11, 1992, in Ingalls. He died in 2008.

She is survived by a daughter, Sonya Fisher of Hillsboro; a son, Teryl Addison of Orlando; stepsons Eugene Hulstine of Salina and Leland Hulstine of St. Petersburg, Fla.; stepdaughters Margaret Finkbeiner of Russell, Martha Mink of Dodge City, Pat Hulstine of Hays, and Tish Koehn of Caldwell; four grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

A service was Tuesday at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro, with pastors Gaylord Goertzen and John Carney officiating. Burial was Tuesday at Green Crest Cemetery in Dodge City.

Memorials have been established with Parkside Homes and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, in care of Jost Funeral Home, 401 S Washington, Hillsboro KS 67063.
