Vandalism is on the rise at city park. Police took reports of vandalism to picnic tables Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday incident has been solved and the damage done on Sunday is under investigation.
Peabody police investigated the report of a stolen miniature pony on May 25. The case was solved when it was discovered that the pony was missing because of a misunderstanding. It was returned to its owner. There were no arrests.
On May 27, one person was arrested for disorderly conduct.
On the same day, a report was made of illegal dumping at the burn pit. Police have information about the person involved.
An individual was arrested May 28 on a Newton Municipal Court warrant.
An individual was cited for driving with a suspended license following the investigation of a non-injury accident May 31 that resulted in damage to a gas meter.
Also on May 31, a complaint of sexual assault was reported. The complaint is under investigation.
