Daniel Unruh, son of Harlin and Doris Unruh of Peabody, graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy degree May 21 from the Department of Civil Engineering and Geology at the University of Notre Dame.

His dissertation was a culmination of five years of research.

He has accepted a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position with the University of Iowa in Iowa City to continue his research.

Unruh is a 2001 graduate of Peabody-Burns High School. He also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in 2006 from Bethel College.
