Truck and camper roll over on Nighthawk

Staff writer

Glenn A. Yoder, 301 N. Vine, Peabody, walked away from a rollover accident Tuesday relatively uninjured.

Yoder refused transport from the accident.

Yoder was towing a large camper trailer with an early 1990s Ford F-150. The vehicle and trailer were overturned on their tops when Peabody fire and ambulance arrived on the scene shortly after 2 p.m. The trailer was blocking the width of Nighthawk Road just north of Peabody.

Marion County Deputy Sheriff Mike Ottensmeier said Yoder was driving north on Nighthawk when the trailer wobbled and Yoder lost control. A witness said Yoder was driving 45 to 50 miles per hour and was going to pass their vehicle when Yoder started to lose control.

Ottensmeier said the investigation will include inspection of the hitch of the trailer to test for a system failure.
