Christmas Day and New Year’s Day both fall on a Friday this year, causing a delay in regular trash pickup for Peabody residents.

“Waste Connections will pick up trash on Saturdays after each holiday” city clerk Stephanie Lago said. “Regular trash is scheduled for Dec. 26. Both trash and recycling will be picked up on Jan. 2.”

Lago said regular pickup schedule will resume Jan. 8.
