Track athletes will have a smooth new surface to run on next season.
Peabody Board of Education accepted a bid for $104,000 from Pro Track in Nebraska to fix large cracks that have formed in the asphalt base due to moisture, and resurface the base with a polyurethane coating. The project should be completed by September, Superintendent Ron Traxson said.
“We could possibly lower that amount if we do things like scraping off the current surface, ourselves,” he said.
