Several PBHS track and field athletes earned individual medals at Wichita Independent April 20. The team will compete at home next and then travel to Bethel College for the Hillsboro Invitational.
Steffen Pospiech placed fifth in the 100-meter dash. In the 200, Isaac Burnett placed third. For the girls’ team, Beatrice Caldarella was second in the 100.
In the 110-meter hurdles Curtis Frederick placed second, Seth Topham placed third, and Zach Preheim placed sixth. In the 300-meter hurdles, Frederick was second and Topham was third.
In the distance running events, Aaron Topham placed first in the 3200. Josh Klarmann was first in the 1600 and Sheldon Wiebe was third. Klarmann also placed first in the 800.
The 4x100 relay team of Clint Jones, Burnett, and Pospiech placed second. The 4x400 relay team of Wiebe, Seth Topham, Aaron Topham, and Klarmann placed first, and the 4x800 relay team of Klarmann, Wiebe, Pospiech, and Aaron Topham placed first.
Burnett placed second in the discus and second in the shot put. Chris Loucks was third in the shot put. Spencer Moffett was fifth in the javelin.
Frederick was first in the triple jump. Seth Topham was first in the high jump and Lucas Larsen was second in the high jump. For the girls’ team, Bethanny Loucks was first in the high jump, first in the triple jump, and second in the long jump.
