Toy Run set for Nov. 3

The 25th annual Marion County Toy Run will begin at Sher Bowl Lanes, 131 S. Thorp, Marion, at 1 p.m. Nov. 3.

Sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion #366, ABATE of Kansas Dist. 9, and Route 56 Classic Cruisers, the Toy Run has become a major benefactor for underprivileged children of Marion County.

Each participant is asked to donate a new toy as their entry fee. The toys, donations, and money raised at an auction and chili feed following the Toy Run are donated to community Christmas Trees, area ministerial organizations and Marion County Resource Center Food Bank as well as county children’s service organizations to provide a better holiday season for many county kids. Over $203,000 has been raised in the last 24 years.

Toys will be collected at Hillsboro State Bank. The auction and chili feed will follow at Hillsboro American Legion Post #366, 405 S. Floral Dr., Hillsboro.
